Minutes of the Alpaca Research Foundation Meeting
November 15, 2010
Present: Abe Rosenbloom, Allan Dewald, Pat Long, Karen Baum,
Randy Larson, Lisa Williamson, Michelle Ing and Patricia Craven. The meeting was
called to order at 6:05pm PST.
President’s report: Abe discussed funding options for the
upcoming Meeting the Challenges of Genetic Improvement in September 2011. Abe is
also checking up on the education lecture for AOBA.
October Minutes: Allan moved to approve, Randy seconded.
Unanimously approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Please see the treasurer’s report for full
details. Randy moved to approve, Karen Seconded. Unanimously approved.
Development Committee Report: For the ARF stud raffle in 2011,
MacGyver’s Balboa is the suri choice, and 38-Special is the huacaya choice.
MAF & LMRG Update: MAF will rely only on full proposals in
the future. Each full proposal is to include a one page scientific abstract
which may be used for pre-screening.
There was a discussion relative to one new study and one continuing study for
which ARF will provide financial support as soon as official approval for these
has been given by the MAF Executive Committee.
Meeting the Challenges of Genetic Improvement: Work is still being done on the
speakers’ schedule.
New Business: Twelve Pre-proposals were evaluated.
The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 10, 2011.
