Minutes of the Alpaca Research Foundation Meeting
March 21, 2011
Present were: Abe Rosenbloom, Allan Dewald, Patricia
Craven, Pat Long, Lisa Williamson, Michelle Ing. The meeting was brought to
order at 6:15pm, PST.
February Minutes: Patricia moved for approval, Allan 2nd. Unanimously approved.
Treasurer’s report: Please see Treasurer’s report for full details. Pat will
send out a revised report for February and it will be voted for approval by the
board via email.
Development Committee: Nancy Haus was asked to take over Kerry's job. But Nancy
has since resigned and Tsulan Balka has offered to take over Kerry's job of
writing the than you notes to donors.
MAF/LMRG Update: GALA has joined ARF to co-fund Dr. Bedenice’s (modified) one
year Florfenicol study (MAF #D10LA-003) at Tufts University. The remainder of
current ARF funding for MAF projects will be in support of the second year of
Dr. Raudsepp’s alpaca genomic study (D09LA-004) at Texas A & M University.
Meeting the Challenges of Genetic Improvement: The committee is scheduled to
meet March 28, 2011 to discuss registration details for the conference.
New Business:
AOBA Education Conference: Abe will contact AOBA and let them know we would be
willing to provide a health lecture for the conference.
Abe entertained a moved to adjourn the meeting, Allan moved to approve, Pat
seconded the motion. Meeting was adjourned at 6:50pm, PST.
Next meeting is scheduled for April 11, 2011 at 6:00pm PST.
