Minutes of the Alpaca Research Foundation Meeting
May 21, 2007
Present were Allan Dewald, Abe Rosenbloom Patricia Craven, Pat Long, Michelle
Ing, Randy Larson, Karen Baum and Lisa Williamson.
The meeting was called to order at 9:12pm EST.
PRESIDENT'S REPORT:
Everyone needs to fill out the self evaluation form and send to Abe. Tibary’s
progesterone study is being done. ARF sponsored lectures by Tibary and
Whitehead/Lakritz at the AOBA Conference were well received.
SECRETARY'S REPORT:
April minutes were approved by Patricia and seconded by Allan. Passed
unanimously.
TREASURER'S REPORT:
Grant account 365,460.36 income 9,406.50 with ending balance 374,866.86.
Administrative account beginning balance 29,480.38 with income of 113.87 and
expenses of 1,917.85 and an ending balance of 27,676.40. The credit card account
started with 2000.81 with deposits of 1,577.00 and fees of 47.22 and an ending
balance of 3530.59.
Allan approved with Randy as second. Passed.
DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE REPORT:
Rachelle Black did a good job with the stud raffle at AOBA. A trailer was
donated for future fund raising.
MAF & LMRG UPDATE:
LMRG will review the proposals. ARF has also received the proposals as well.
There was a MAF meeting last week. June 21 there will be a tribute to Mark
Morris. Funding has been good for projects.
ARF Sponsored Scientific Meeting 2008: Patricia discussed the idea. Warren
Johnson suggested it. This would help reduce redundant research. It could be in
concert with another meeting. It would be aimed at researchers. Perhaps one of
the major veterinary meetings would be good to disseminate information.
Review of 2007 Grant Proposal Requests: Four proposals were reviewed.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, 5 June 2007 at 9pm EST.
Randy moved to adjourn and Pat seconded.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:46 pm.
