Minutes of the Alpaca Research Foundation Meeting

February 18, 2008 

Present were Abe Rosenbloom, Karen Baum, Allan Dewald, Randy Larson, Michelle Ing, Patricia Craven, Lisa Williamson and Patrick Long.

The meeting was called to order at 9:03 pm ET.

Presidents Report: Progress reports have been received on many of the grants. The speaker for the ARF Lecture at the AOBA Annual Conference will need to be selected as soon as we get the okay from AOBA.

Secretary’s Report: January 7 minutes were approved by Allan and seconded by Pat. Passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report: The report was discussed (see attachment). Approved by Allan seconded by Karen. Passed unanimously.

Development Committee Report: The Super Stud Raffle is proceeding well. Legacy and Sirius Black are the studs for which tickets will be sold. Our web banners are being sought after and well received.

MAF & LMRG Update: Allan brought us up to date on the activities at MAF. This coming weekend will be one of the three meetings for MAF during 2008.

ARF Sponsored Scientific Meeting 2008: Patricia reported that all is set for the meeting on camelid genetics, February 22-24, 2008 in Scottsdale, AZ. The abstracts and agenda are on the website. There will be discussion groups formed after all the talks are finished.

There was a discussion of the policies and procedures governing royalties.

Pat has been approached about animals being donated to ARF.

There is a program available in which we can do conference calls on the computer. It is called Skype. Pat will look into the details. Everyone needs a microphone on their computer.

The next meeting will be on Monday at 9:00 ET on March 24, 2008.

Pat moved to adjourn and Allan seconded.
