Prevalence of Anthelmintic Resistant Gastrointestinal Nematodes in Camelids

Worm related deaths are an increasing problem for camelid producers. Resistance to dewormers is a common finding in small ruminant worm populations, making management of worms difficult. Resistant worms are emerging in camelid herds, but the magnitude of the problem is currently unknown. The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of resistant worm populations in camelids. We will also determine if the FAMACHA eye chart is appropriate for use in camelids.
